Derived from the Greek, relating to the character of totality. The term holistic applies to any globalizing or syncretic approach where various elements, usually isolated, are combined and coordinated for more effective results.
Inspired by the Californian approach of "Holistic Health", Santé Ressources Spa Médicinal Lucie Caron offers patients a much needed balance, be it on a physical, an emotional or a psychological level, with the help a multitude of non-invasive methods based on dexterity rather than force.
We are inspired by the Western natural medicine and Eastern wisdom for the care of the body and the spirit. This blend of traditional and modern knowledge brings a more suitable health care aiming at the prevention and the cure of diseases afflicting our civilization.
Good news! A number of our treatments, such as massage therapy, osteopathy, naturopathy, nutrition, and podology (hygiene of the feet), are now recognized and reimbursed, in part or in full, by the majority of insurance companies.
Osteopathy is defined as a manual medicine focusing on the functional disorders of the human body. This practice was created in North America, at the end of the 19th century, when Dr. Andrew Taylor Still developed a new medical philosophy, osteopathy, which suggests a more humane view of the caregiver-patient relationship than older methods. This approach puts emphasis on touch and is based on the existence of a correlation between the musculoskeletal system and the body as a whole.
Its benefits:
Restores the proper functioning of your organism through palpatory manipulation.
Based on the principle that the human body can regenerate itself.
Allows to carefully treat the majority of musculoskeletal disorders, digestive problems, liver and kidneys disorders and disorders relating to the head (sinusitis, otitis, headaches, jaw problems, etc). Also relieves insomnia, fatigue and depression.
Proposes a global view of the human body’s health.
The osteopath, the body’s clockmaker, uses his hands in different ways to establish an osteopathic diagnosis and deliver a treatment.
Energetic Osteopathy:
Energetic osteopathy focuses on subtle bodies, or energetic fields. The hands are set slightly away from the client’s body. This science is privileged when light touch is not possible or when the parts of the body that need to be treated are inaccessible. It is also useful when several prior treatment attempts applied to the physical body have failed. Its benefits are always surprising.
Sports Therapy with an Osteopathic Approach.
Practice aiming at getting the client back on his feet in record time following an athletic injury, with or without the osteopathic approach. The osteopathic approach increases the benefits and allows access to the body structure when necessary.
Different massage techniques are available, each one adopting a distinct orientation, but with the same goal, which is releasing energy blockages created by anxiety, in order to re-establish the proprer functioning of the organs of the body.
Different Californian and Swedish techniques
A precursor of the Californian massage, the Swedish massage is certainly the oldest Western massage technique. The Californian and Swedish massages are practiced directly on the skin. They are sometimes associated with the use of essential oils to reach a precise goal: relaxation or revitalisation, for example. Massaged this way, the muscles, ligaments, tendons and nervous system are easily relaxed and liberated from the tension that overwhelms them, resulting in a tremendous mental and physical relief. To the difference of the Swedish massage, in which the muscles are worked in depth, the Californian massage addresses the body as a whole. Ultimately, this massage is felt as enveloping all parts of the body.
Polarity
The polarity method was developed by Dr Randolf Stone in 1948. His studies and analyses brought him to notice that polarisation was irremediably present in all factors of good health. Thus, nutrition counts two categories: acid foods (positive) and alkaline foods (negative). Nature divides itself between day and night, and humanity between man and woman.
Therefore, the life chain is completely polarized: each link presents two poles of opposite nature. Polarity draws on softness rather than force, and involves restoring an energetic equilibrium: the use of both hands, acting as opposite poles, facilitates the flow of energy between the cells of a same system.
Shiatsu
Shiatsu is an ancient science founded on the Chinese medicine’s theory of the meridians. A vital source of energy, each meridian is connected to a vital organ (liver, heart, lungs, intestines, etc.) and occupies specific points on which we apply pressure with the thumbs, elbows or feet. Activating the energy, this pressure relieves tension, pain, tiredness and various physical and emotional symptoms.
Hara
This branch of the Japanese shiatsu massage is considered an art and a very effective science that requires a lot of dexterity. According to Eastern medicine, the imbalances of energy eventually manifest themselves in the physical body through different symptoms, hence the importance of energetic balance.
Through palpations, the therapist performing Hara massage can assess the energetic state of the organs. Is energy lacking or in excess? The Hara massages can then restore the balance.
Thus, free of blockages, vital energy circulates in every circuit associated with a specific organ and nourishes it. These paths are called meridians. The function of these meridians is fulfilled consecutively in relation to one another. This is why a severe meridian blockage weakens the energy reserves of the following meridian.
The Hara massage has a lot of benefits: energetic, organic, nervous and even skeletal (spine, sciatic nerve, etc.).
Chinese Medicine
During this type of massage, the assessment of the health report is based on the premises of Chinese medicine, according to an understanding of the energetic flow along the meridians supplying energy to all organs and systems in the body. It involves re-establishing vital energy, which, when it is insufficient or in excess, creates health disorders and diseases or mood swings. This therapeutic treatment is given using the hands and fingers, without needles.
Hot Stones
The fire transmuted heat contained in the volcano pebbles brings relaxation and vitality. Massage with hot stones marks a return to the sources allying the virtues of the relaxation of the massage and the stones’ vibration, bringing the person to a state of deep inner peace.
Because of their vibratory presence, Native Americans have traditionally considered stones infinitely respected allies. Rocks were also very often used in rituals relating to therapeutic care.
This traditional practice uses a modern approach that consists in heating basalt stones in a hot water bath that remains at a constant temperature. This practice induces relaxing physiological effects and detoxification. The basalt stones are known for their ability to retain heat; they are positioned on specific parts of the body, according to the person’s particular needs.
After a few minutes, the heat penetrates and diffuses in the whole targeted area while provoking the flow of fluids (blood, lymph) and enhancing the state of relaxation and interiority.
This technique consists in sliding the hot stones deeply along the muscles, from head to toe. To offer a treatment that meets the specific needs of each person, it is possible to alternate with a massage without stones while focusing on areas that need to be treated.
Pregnancy
Pregnancy follow-up according to the mother-to-be’s needs. This is a massage that aims at maintaining a high level of vitality to better live the pregnancy, the childbirth and the period following childbirth. It was noticed that babies whose moms had received these treatments were in general better able to be remain calm when life required it. Beneficial in the long run!
Lymphatic Drainage
Very soft massage consisting in very light pressure applied with precision. Its effects are felt at the level of the circulation of the body’s fluids, mainly lymph. Lymph is oxygenated and brings nutrients to the cells and transports toxins to be eliminated. This massage is beneficial for: insomnia, stress, tiredness, edema and obesity. It can also be administered without oils.
Reflexology, massage of the feet zones
Pressure is applied with the thumbs, fingers or hands on precise points of the sole of the foot and the palm of the hand. The points correspond to specific zones of the body. The goal of this practice is to eliminate blockages that are harmful to the physiological functioning of the body. Very powerful and surprising!
Pressure Therapy
The benefits of pressure therapy originate from the effects of pressure and alternating decompressions administered from the bottom up in order to produce a drainage effect that activates the blood and lymphatic circulation. Our device is designed to treat the legs, the arms or the lumber region according to individual needs.
Method: the body parts to be treated are inserted in long sleeves or in a belt made out of 4 independent inner tubes that inflate successively.

Plays an important role in relaxation, thinning and skin firming.
And a study with health report and health counselling, that can include nutrition, suggestions of phytotherapy or all other natural alternative medicines suggestions that bring to a healing path.
The evaluations are done through an interview or a questionnaire. Active listening can bring out the emotional, physical and intellectual aspects of the problem. The evaluation can also be done using a health report and, if necessary, applied kinesiology. The analysis technique of the Hara and of other methods can be used as well, according to the professional conducting the assessment.
Phytotherapy
Phytotherapy, or plant-based therapy, is the simplest and most natural way to improve our health. Phytotherapy aims at preventing disorders and diseases with the use of active ingredients in certain vegetal formulations. Today’s knowledge of plants is still evolving thanks to botany, chemistry, biochemistry and, mainly, the results achieved in phytotherapy. Therefore, we can now state that phytotherapy is undeniably passed the empiric stage. Furthermore, research in the fields of biology and other scientific work now yield products of consistent composition, and consequently, increased reliability.
Products used in phytotherapy
Nowadays, active principles are obtained through a cold extraction process. The resulting concentrates, although they remain absolutely natural, produce effects that are much faster and much more effective. Products are offered in many forms – caplets, capsules, ointments or liquids – and are formulated as to preserve the therapeutic value of the active ingredients.
Psychothérapie
Psychotherapy, whether short or long term, initially aims at supporting and guiding the person towards obtaining a new balance between his or her emotional strengths and weaknesses.
The psycho-analytical approach of Hakomi
We offer a step by step self-discovery program which makes it possible to become aware of patterns, i.e. to make an association between a given situation and the way we react to it. This dynamic mechanism of association is generally located in the subconscious, and psychotherapy allows us to discover the tools to defuse it. With this intention, one takes into account at the same time body language and emotive and intellectual demonstrations, the person being regarded as a whole.
One detects a pattern when a recurrent chain of similar events is noted, such as a set of dominos: given situation, standard of reactions and orientation towards the same conclusion. By becoming aware of patterns, the person will be able to release them more easily and, consequently, will have increased freedom of action.
Such a psychotherapeutic process makes it possible to build a personal system of values, to acquire new means of action and regain self-esteem.
For example, psychotherapy becomes a solution to find balance in cases such as:
Distress
Fatigue
Depression
Anxiety disorder
Periods of transition
